« I was quite impressed the first time I heard Mr. Vachez’s music and guitar playing... As a composer, not only he has very good musical ideas, he knows how to develop them extremely well by blending traditional and contemporary languages in a very personal way. Mr. Vachez has a vast harmonic vocabulary which form solid grounds for the beautiful melodies he creates. When playing his own music, he makes excellent use of color and timbre, by taking full advantage of the instrument’s capabilities. His use of extended techniques are tastefully crafted and always in the right places and in right amounts. He is also a fine interpreter of other composers, and definitely does great justice to the repertoire he chose. The final result is excellent and refreshing. Most importantly, it keeps active listeners interested at all times. »
